It is really a huge chance to be part of Volt and to act in a different kind of making politics. Volters who run, have to apply first and will later have an interview with the Candidate committee, these will be held after the 30 july or sooner when possible.

The Cadidate committe will advise the Danish board to approve or reject the of the candidature of the Volters who would like to run.

After the approval of the Cadidacy, the Candidates have to collect 25 signatures in the Towns they want to run. The final period of collecting signatures will be possibly in the end of sept. We will have to find a way to support the Candidates in collecting the signatures. We will do that together with the teams.

We will keep you updated during the whole process.

But first we woud like you all to think about the idea of becoming a Volt Politician. We are looking forward for your application.

A bunch of Volters met on the roof of Cinemateket with a beautiful view of Copenhagen and the sunset. Henrik Langli from the board showed up and gave an overview of what has been discussed on the board so far and what important decisions lie ahead. We had a good discussion about branding, campaign strategy, funding, as well as the local elections coming up and how to encourage everyone to consider running.

Volt is politics for a new generation of thinkers - but barricades are put up at every step.

In Belgium, Volt has been excluded from polls and voting guides (read interview with Sophie in ‘t Velt, lead candidate for Volt in Belgium).

In Germany, they chose not to show that a ChatGpt was the party the algorithm agreed with 95% most (see MEP Damian Boeselager's LinkedIn post)

In Spain, Volt was first on the ballot paper after a frantic search for 50 signatures from elected representatives and Clara Panella Gómez is now the leading candidate in Spain! (Read interview) and while Volt Europa is treanding as the most searched party in Google - Volt has not been invited to any of the big debates or invited to debates.

Volt's citizen-driven policies are needed in today's EU

At a time when the EU's development requires MORE community, we need political solutions based on citizens' real problems. Volt sees the shift to the right in European politics as a clear result of the disconnect that European citizens have with elected politicians. Volt wants to remove that distance.

The fact that Volt has the same election programme across the continent means that candidates are constantly consulting each other to incorporate local factors into their policy proposals.

In Copenhagen, Volt from Lübeck got to know the lively street food scene right on the waterfront. The "Reffen" and the "Bridge Street Kitchen" directly on the inner harbour bridge would attract young and old in summer. "The variety of the offerings, the locations and the price impressed us all round," reports Thomas Jahn. "In the centre of our beautiful old town, we want to make this beautiful promenade on the sunny side more attractive for Lübeck residents and tourists, especially because it connects the two attractive locations of Drehbrückenplatz and the Hansemuseum."

Ten to 15 food trucks in one culinary experience location

The politician envisages ten to 15 food trucks that could initially be located there at the weekend. "We believe that there are enough creative restaurateurs in Lübeck who can turn a street food quay into a culinary experience with their ideas," says Thomas Jahn. Not only bratwurst and fish sandwiches should be on offer, but also pizza, craft beer, tacos and other international dishes.

The administration would have to be brought on board to sort out licences, waste disposal and electricity. "The city could refinance the costs through stall fees," suggests Thomas Jahn. In addition, not a single car park would have to be lost and passenger shipping would not be hindered.
