The Future of Europe

Volt address root causes and seek solutions to real problems. Many farmers are engaging with the climate agenda, introducing new crops, changed practices but are also faced with higher costs and negative spiralling debt cycles.
Volt wants to ensure sustainable practices and an environmentally sustainable future. To that end, we need regenerative farming and a new way of addressing our farming community.
Under the current rules, innovative solutions such as vertical farming are not supported under EU schemes because they take up little space. We need a reform of the agricultural package NOW.
Volt is running for the European Parliament elections to tackle our big challenges and we're taking a holistic approach to our challenges!
Volt is committed to working towards climate neutrality in energy production and use by 2035.
This begins by introducing the targets and pathways to decarbonise Europe, including our carbon pricing policy, one of the main instruments to achieve decarbonisation.
Volt aims to fairly distribute the burden of these policies, based on the principle that the responsibility to act should be proportional to the damage done and profit gained by all parties alike, companies, institutions, and people across the world.
Volt prioritises the protection and conservation of marine life and ocean ecosystems. We advocate for sustainable fishing practices, the establishment of marine protected areas, and the reduction of plastic pollution. We support international cooperation to address global challenges and aim to promote awareness and education about the importance of marine ecosystems. Volt's ambitions include phasing out harmful fishing practices, protecting marine habitats, and ensuring the sustainability and resilience of ocean ecosystems.
Part of sustainable agriculture is better treatment of our farm animals. Volt will strongly regulate the transport of farm animals within EU borders and completely ban longer journeys that take farm animals out of the EU.
Time to think holistically when it comes to our agriculture!
These policies reflect Volt's commitment to promoting sustainable and ethical food systems that protect the environment, support farmers, and ensure the well-being of animals.
Recognising ecocide as a crime supports and strengthens existing EU environmental legislation in all member states, creates safeguards for economic activity and allows for strategic change and innovation in politics and industry!
This is a legal and moral opportunity for the EU to lead the world in protecting life on earth: for us, for our children and for all living beings.
Volt has defined 5+1 fundamental Challenges that need to be tackled in each European country and in Europe as a whole.
Why 5 + 1 Challenges?
The 5 Challenges are basically the same for every country, but their implementation can be adapted on the national level to take into account local realities.
The +1 Challenge – our proposal to reform and strengthen the EU – is identical across all our national programmes.
Education and digitalisation are key elements of the 21st century
An innovative economy must be the engine of society's progress
No-one should be left behind - no matter their gender, income, religion. or origin
Europe needs to assume responsibility for its role in global challenges
People must be empowered to influence politics beyond elections alone
We love the EU - this doesn't mean there is no room for improvement
