What are Volt's political goals? / The Future of Europe

Energy - the Grid

Energy Grid and the Paris Agreement

Volt works for a CO2-neutral Europe and Denmark must be part of the solution. We must also work for energy independence and that means expanding our electricity grid and reforming our energy production to include hydrogen batteries and providing nuclear power.

  • Reform the electricity grid so that it can handle more energy types.

  • Support Power-2-X research and development.

  • Prioritize making our homes energy efficient.

  • Set zero energy building (nZEB) standards for all new buildings in the EU by 2030 and net zero emissions for all buildings by 2030.

  • Makes it possible for citizens to supply electricity to the grid.

  • Harmonize market regulation in the EU.

  • Support the replacement of fossil fuel stoves and boilers and strengthen electrification as well as sustainable district heating solutions.

The 5+1 Challenges

Volt has defined 5+1 fundamental Challenges that need to be tackled in each European country and in Europe as a whole.

Why 5 + 1 Challenges?

The 5 Challenges are basically the same for every country, but their implementation can be adapted on the national level to take into account local realities.

The +1 Challenge – our proposal to reform and strengthen the EU – is identical across all our national programmes.
