Kathrine Richter
“I firmly believe that lasting solutions for our future are found on local and European level. People are globally linked and we have to be internationalists.”
Kathrine founded the Danish Volt chapter in 2018 and ran for the European Parliament in 2019 with Volt Belgium. In 2021, she ran for local elections in Frederiksberg and in 2024, she put her name forward to run for Volt in Denmark for the European elections.
She has a Master in History from Copenhagen Univeristy (2008) with electives in Macroeconomics, international relations and social science. She has studied in Australia and wrote her thesis on national history in Australia with a focus on Aboriginal History.
She became political as Brexit happened and with the election of Trump and a rising distrust at science. The European community activated her and today, she has worked actively with Volt since 2018 and continues to work across local communities to spark interest in politics and raise awareness of key topics.
