Parliament prevented Volt from running!

You cannot vote for Volt in the European Parliament elections in Denmark in 2024 because the Danish Parliament passed L48 on 7 December 2023.

The law said, Volt could run!

In 2023, it was stated in the European Parliament Election Act that if a party was represented in the European Parliament, the party did not need to collect voter endorsements. We checked with a lawyer in EU law and with his help submitted a notification on Monday 6 March 2023.

The Ministry of the Interior rejects Volt: You threaten Danish democracy!

After 6 weeks of waiting, Volt received a rejection from the Ministry of the Interier and here are 4 wild reasons as to why:

Then the European Movement Against the EU made a suggestion!

The European Movement Against the EU had suggested lowering the number of voter declarations for the European Parliament elections to make it a little easier, after all, to stand for election. Here is our submission to the Home Affairs Committee, which of course ignored our proposal.

The Ombudsman agreed with us!

The Ministry of the Interior prepares legal action against Volt

While we wait, the Ministry of the Interior is busy cleaning up the legal text so that Volt cannot run! In a democrat country, they are going to great lengths to prevent Volt from running!

Time to challenge the political status quo!

Today we have revolving doors for politicians and barricades for new parties.

With the requirement of 70.680 endorsements , Denmark has the highest threshold to get on the ballot paper for the European Parliament elections. This does not benefit the social dialogue or trust in the political system.

Video: This many signatures is required in other parts of EU (hint: not as many as in Denmark!)

  • 01

    Smart State

An innovative state takes care of its citizens and is at the same time ready with flexible solutions. We will therefore strengthen both our digital AND our human solutions.

  • 02

    Economic rebirth

In order to meet the challenges of the future, we must rethink the economy in Europe. From the labor market to our monetary and financial policy.

  • 03

    Citizen involvement and democracy

We want to strengthen the individual citizen's voice in everyday life. It is a failure of democracy if citizens are only listened to at election time.

  • 04

    Social Equality

Volt wants an equal society where the individual potential can be unleashed, and here Volt wants to take the lead and take greater responsibility.

  • 05

    Global Balance

The western world is responsible for a large emission of CO2 and therefore we must also be at the forefront of developing solutions.

  • +1

    EU reform

We have a vision for Europe that guarantees equal access to education, healthcare and social protection and employment opportunities for all. A Europe where citizens have the same rights and can trust that everyone contributes and benefits equally from their commitment.
